Zhang Chunlin, the deputy secretary of the CPC Shanxi Provincial Committee, has been appointed the secretary of the Party Leadership Group of the Shanxi Provincial Political Consultative Conference.

According to the WeChat official account of “Shanxi Comprehensive Broadcasting,” the third plenary session of the 13th Shanxi Provincial Political Consultative Conference was grandly opened in Taiyuan on January 16th. The secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Tang Dengjie and the deputy secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and governor Jin Xiangjun sent greetings at the meeting and took seats in the front row of the podium.

The news also mentioned that Zhang Chunlin, secretary of the leading party group of the Shanxi Provincial Political Consultative Conference, along with vice chairpersons Xu Guangguo, Zhang Jifu, Li Zhengyin, Zhang Fuming, Li Xiaobo, Li Qingshan, Li Sijin, Wang Liwei, Yan Chenxi, Wang Lei, and secretary general Zhang Qiyun were seated in the front row of the podium.

The news stated that Zhang Chunlin, who has served as the deputy secretary of Shanxi Provincial Party Committee, has been appointed as the secretary of the leading party group of Shanxi Provincial Political Consultative Conference.

Zhang Chunlin is a male Han Chinese born in Dezhou, Sichuan in February 1965. He joined the work in August 1986 and joined the Communist Party of China in January of the same year. He graduated from Xinjiang University Economics and Management School with a degree in Economics. He is currently a member of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China Candidate Members.

Zhang Chunlin has a long history of working in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. He has served as the executive vice governor of Bozhou, deputy director of the Autonomous Region Audit Office, director of the Autonomous Region Development and Reform Committee and other positions. In February 2017, he was promoted to vice chairman of the Autonomous Region Government. In January 2018, he joined the Standing Committee of the Autonomous Region Party Committee and served as Executive Vice Governor of the Autonomous Region Government at the same time.

In April 2021, Zhang Chunlin was appointed as the deputy secretary of the CPC Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Committee and served concurrently as the Minister of Propaganda for the Autonomous Region Party Committee. Later, he also served concurrently as the Secretary of the Autonomous Region Education Work Committee. In November 2023, Zhang Chunlin was transferred to serve as Deputy Secretary of Shanxi Provincial Party Committee across province lines.

On January 13th, 2025, during the eleventh meeting of the Standing Committee of the 13th Shanxi Provincial Political Consultative Conference, Zhang Chunlin was added as a member of Shanxi Provincial Political Consultative Conference through an amendment.
