Since the Spring Festival transportation started on January 14th, the Yangtze River Delta railway has sent more than 4.57 million passengers. Among them, the number of passengers on the 14th and 15th was 2.19 million and 2.382 million respectively. The number of passengers sent per day has shown a rising trend. The passenger flow of railway stations in Shanghai, Nanjing, Hefei, Hangzhou and Xuzhou has increased significantly. In terms of passenger flow direction, more than 30% of the through passenger flow is headed to Yunnan, Guizhou, Sichuan, Chongqing, Northeast China, Northwest China, Hunan, Hubei, Jiangxi and Henan; nearly 70% of the local passenger flow is mainly concentrated in Zhejiang, Shanghai, Hefei, Anqing, Wuhu and Northern Jiangsu.
China Railway Shanghai Group actively responds to the challenge of large passenger flow. Based on the peak operation plan, it increases transport capacity by adding passenger trains, connecting high-speed trains and adding conventional train carriages. At the same time, it innovates service measures to improve service quality and strives to make passengers’ Spring Festival travel experience better. Shanghai Hongqiao Station introduces “little heart deer” AI digital service, Shanghai South Railway Station introduces smart robots to provide 24-hour intelligent inquiry and station guidance services. Hangzhou passenger segments purchase “child anti-loss safety ropes” for passengers who travel with children to help solve parents’ worries. Nanjing passenger segments design and produce “anti-misplaced luggage tags” which can be hung on similar luggage in the train to avoid passengers from taking wrong luggage during the Spring Festival transportation period.
Railway departments reminded all passengers that there are many dynamically operated trains during the Spring Festival transportation period. Please pay attention to the announcement at the station or the information on the railway 12306 website in a timely manner, arrange your trip in advance and try to avoid peak travel times as much as possible. During the Spring Festival transportation period, the urban traffic pressure will increase sharply. It is recommended to leave home early and leave time for security check and real-name authentication procedures at the station. Passengers who have not bought tickets can use the waiting list ticket function in China Railway’s 12306 website or 12306 mobile app to buy tickets. Many cities in the Yangtze River Delta have two or more railway stations. Please confirm your travel information before departure to avoid running to the wrong station and delaying your trip.
