On January 17th, the Zhejiang Provincial Civilization Office issued an “倡议 for a Civilized Spring Festival” to the people of the whole province through its official WeChat public account. The initiative encouraged people to have a warm and companionable Spring Festival, a thrifty and healthy Spring Festival, a scientific and civilized Spring Festival, and a safe and auspicious Spring Festival.
The Spring Festival is the most solemn traditional festival of the Chinese nation, which embodies the national sentiment and value concept of Chinese people, and is an important symbol of Chinese civilization.
The initiative called for a warm and companionable Spring Festival. As a festival of reunion, let us put away our mobile phones and return to real life. Let’s share household chores, have family dinners together, spend more time with family members, and feel the warmth of home.

He submitted the “Proposal for Implementing the Social Initiative of ‘Putting Away Your Phone and Returning to True Feelings’ ” to the 13th Provincial Political Consultative Conference, suggesting launching the action of “putting away your phone starting from family reunion dinners” to encourage people to experience the long-lost true meaning of “family members sitting around a warm fire”.
The relevant person in charge from the Zhejiang Provincial Civilization Office expressed that in order to make the Spring Festival more civilized and full of charm, combined with the “I Celebrate the New Year in the New Era Civilization Practice Center” theme activities that are being carried out throughout the province, they issued the call for a civilized Spring Festival. It also responded to the proposal made by provincial political consultant Ge Jihong about “putting away your phone starting from family reunion dinners”.
